01
Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy forms part of the Terms & Conditions. It exists to protect account holders, utility portals, other clients and the platform itself.
03
Respecting utility portals
- Do not ask us to run volumes designed to overload or degrade a DISCOM portal.
- Do not attempt to bypass captcha, rate limits, authentication or other security controls beyond the normal login the account holder approved.
- Do not use the Service to perform portal actions other than bill retrieval — no payments, no profile changes, no service requests.
- Report to us promptly if a portal signals that access is unauthorized or blocked.
04
Handling the data you receive
- Use bill data only for the purpose the account holder was told about.
- Do not resell, publish or redistribute consumer bill data.
- Do not use it to build marketing lists, credit profiles or any profiling the account holder did not agree to.
- Apply reasonable security to the data once it reaches your systems.
05
Platform integrity
- Do not probe, scan or attempt to breach our infrastructure, or access another client's data.
- Do not upload malware or attempt to interfere with other clients' processing.
- Do not reverse engineer, resell, sublicense or white-label the Service without our written agreement.
- Do not share a single login across unrelated users, or circumvent plan limits.
- Do share genuine security findings with security@litebill.in — we welcome responsible disclosure.
06
Enforcement
Where we believe this policy has been breached we may, proportionately:
- Ask you to produce the authorization for a connection.
- Suspend processing for specific connections while we investigate.
- Suspend or terminate the account for serious or repeated breaches.
- Report the matter to the relevant utility or authority where the law requires it.
Reporting misuse
If you believe someone is using LiteBill to access connections without permission, tell us at security@litebill.in or privacy@litebill.in. Reports about unauthorized access are treated as urgent.
